Megalithic Route

This is a guided tour through several necropolises that make up the Park. The route begins at the Mirador del Llano de Olivares and continues toward a group of dolmens belonging to the Llano de Olivares necropolis, located right on the edge of the Gor River valley with impressive views of the landscape. Afterward, we'll descend by road to the next stop in Conquín, where another necropolis is located and where the symbol of the megalithic park, Dolmen 134, is located.

The route requires walking for most of the route. These are easy hikes that don't require much effort or physical conditioning.

Toril Aqueduct Route

Un primer plano de un tronco de árbol con musgo creciendo en él.

The route begins next to the Alicún Baths, a special place of carbonated hot springs. Nearby is the Toril Aqueduct. It is a strange formation, half natural and half man-made, located in Villanueva de las Torres next to the Alicún de las Torres Spa. It is a limestone wall formed over time by the precipitation and sedimentation of salts in the water that flows vigorously through these places. What was once a simple ditch at ground level, probably used to carry water to the Paleolithic settlement, today has heights exceeding fifteen meters along its different routes, stretching over a length of more than one and a half kilometers.

It is a fairly simple route in general and highly recommended even in summer.

Route 13

Un campo de hierba seca con una cerca de alambre de púas en primer plano.

On this route, we will walk through the Llano de Olivares and different areas within it. The route begins at the Mirador del Llano de Olivares viewpoint and continues to the Cortijo del 13, passing through a rural area dominated by a unique landscape of almond trees and pine trees that contrasts sharply with the surrounding landscape. Finally, we will reach Puntal de Bácor, where the Casa del Desierto was located. From there, we will be able to observe the landscape at the edge of the Gorafe Desert and the Negratín reservoir. We will continue to the town of Gorafe, descending the Gor/Freila slope.

The route has a total distance of 11 km. It is not an easy hike for those who are not in good shape or are very elderly.
