HOW TO CHOOSE A ROUTE?

WHERE DO WE WORK?

Geopark Granada focuses its activities on the Guadix-Baza Basin, an intramountain depression divided into two main sub-basins and a central zone. Our excursions take place primarily in the Gorafe Desert and its surroundings and are designed to discover sites of significant scenic, geological, and historical interest.

So… what is the ideal route?

To choose the most suitable route, we recommend taking the following aspects into account:

• Duration: Each itinerary has a different duration. You can find the estimated time for each route in the corresponding table.
• Level of Exertion: Although our excursions don't include extreme activities, some routes include hikes of varying lengths that, if you're not used to hiking, may be challenging. Check the difficulty level indicated on each itinerary to avoid surprises.

Once you've considered these points, we invite you to explore each of our routes in detail so you can assess which one best suits your interests and physical condition.

HIKING (TREKKING)

In the Llano de Olivares and Gorafe

For trekking excursions, we decided to limit our offerings to the Guadix Basin, in the area of the Gorafe Desert and Los Coloraos. The chosen area, approximately 160 km2, is rich in spectacular landscapes, geology, and feasible hikes for those in good physical shape. These excursions are not suitable for those unfamiliar with hiking on unprepared terrain (they are primarily conducted in areas not covered by trails).
